Content AI has streamlined the transfer of data from primary documents into 1C using the ContentCapture® platform

Content AI has released a connector between the ContentCapture® intelligent document processing platform and 1C. The solution enables accountants to process incoming paper-based or unstructured electronic documents — such as universal transfer documents (UTDs), invoices, delivery notes, certificates of completed work, and others — directly within the 1C interface, without switching between applications. The connector is compatible with 1C: Accounting and 1C platform: Enterprise.

The 1C connector is launched alongside a major update to ContentCapture®, version 14.13. In April 2026, Content AI unified intelligent document processing (IDP) and robotic process automation (RPA) capabilities within a single platform. Previously, document automation projects required integration of separate products from multiple vendors, which, according to Content AI estimates, increased project costs by 30–50%. The updated platform delivers a full-cycle automation of document workflows and other business processes. For example, it can automatically post a document in 1C, route it for approval to the appropriate employee, or trigger any other required action based on its content.

How the connector works

The connector is installed as a 1C extension. During processing, scans, photos, and documents in other formats are routed to the ContentCapture® “hot folder”. After recognition, the list of processed documents appears directly within the 1C interface. The accountant selects the required document, verifies the counterparty, line items, and numerical values, and generates a completed 1C document with pre-filled fields in a single click.

A key differentiator of the solution is the unified verification screen. The document image and the extracted data are displayed side by side within the 1C interface. This allows users to validate the accuracy of transferred data without switching between systems.

The current version of the connector supports the main types of primary accounting documents, including universal transfer documents (UTDs), invoices, delivery notes, and certificates of completed work. According to Content AI estimates, these document types account for 90–95% of incoming document flow.

The solution is particularly relevant for companies with a high volume of paper-based primary accounting documents - starting from 50–100 documents per day and above. Even after transitioning to electronic document management (EDM), many companies continue to receive paper and scanned documents from counterparties that have not adopted electronic exchange. The solution is also in demand during peak accounting periods, such as month-end or quarter-end closing.

"Intelligent automation is transforming an increasing number of processes within accounting and finance functions. Document processing systems are taking over tasks that were previously performed manually. As a result, operations are executed faster, manual data entry errors are eliminated, and specialists are freed from routine work. At the same time, control remains with the user, who can verify every figure and make the final decision", — said Ivan Volkov, Director of Products at Content AI.

In upcoming releases, the connector will support synchronization with master data directories. Item catalogs and counterparty data will be transferred from 1C to ContentCapture®. This will increase the rate of automatic matching and reduce the need for manual actions. The platform will also enable sending documents for recognition directly from the 1C interface, learn from user actions during item matching, and apply accumulated rules to similar documents.
